Using this site

By using Business Findr you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

You agree not to:

• copy or scrape the site to build a competing directory;
• submit anything through our forms that is false, abusive or not yours to submit;
• try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or anything behind it.

What we say about businesses

Where a business carries a review and a rating, we have visited it, and both are our own honest opinion of that visit. Opinions are opinions. Somewhere brilliant can have an off night, and somewhere we were lukewarm about might be exactly what you want.

Details go out of date. Opening hours change, prices change, chefs leave, businesses close. We do our best to keep listings current, but we cannot promise everything is right at the moment you read it — check with the business before making a special journey.

Events

Event details usually come from the business running the event. Dates, times and prices can change or be cancelled at short notice, and that is outside our control. Always check with the organiser before setting off.

Paid listings and promotion

Businesses can pay us. A paid membership can include a listing, a fuller profile, and promotion — being featured on the site, appearing as a FINDR Pick, being included in a guide, or coverage on our social accounts. So when you see a business promoted here, it may be a paid placement. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you assume otherwise.

Paying also affects position. Members are listed above businesses who are not members, wherever results are shown — on Discover, on category and city pages, and in search. Their cards are larger and carry more: photography, our score, and the line we wrote after visiting. Every listing page says so above the results. Within those two groups, the order is set by relevance, our rating, or whatever you have chosen to sort by — never by how much anyone has paid.

What money does not buy is the rating or the review. We visit every business we list, and the rating and the words are ours, written afterwards. A business cannot pay us to rate it higher, to change what we wrote, or to take out a line it does not like. If we would not recommend somewhere, we do not list it — paid or not.

The terms of a paid membership are agreed separately and in writing with the business concerned. Nothing on this page replaces that agreement.

What belongs to whom

The words, photographs, reviews, guides and design on this site belong to us, unless credited otherwise. You are welcome to link to us and to quote a sentence or two with a credit. You may not republish our reviews or copy our listings wholesale.

Business names, logos and trade marks belong to the businesses themselves and appear here to identify them.

Links to other sites

We link to business websites, booking pages and social accounts. We do not control those and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care over this site, but we provide it as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors.

We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for losses arising from your dealings with a business you found through us — those dealings are between you and them. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are using the site as a consumer, your legal rights are unaffected.

Getting something taken down

If you run a business listed here and something is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. If you would rather not be listed at all, say so and we will take the profile down. Email admin@businessfindr.co.uk.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
