BUSINESS FINDR

For businesses

How it works

Getting onto Business Findr takes a conversation and a visit — not a form and a credit card.

  1. 1We find you, or you tell usMost of what we list comes from walking around, from Instagram, or from someone telling us about a place they love. If you run a business you think belongs here, send it over — it costs nothing to ask and we read every one ourselves.
  2. 2We come and see youThis is the part other directories skip. We turn up as a customer, we pay like a customer, and we form our own view. If it is not a fit, we will tell you honestly rather than string you along.
  3. 3We write the profileWe write the words and take the photographs. You will be asked for the practical things — opening hours, phone number, booking link — but you do not have to write copy or fill in a long form. That is our job.
  4. 4It goes liveYour profile appears in the directory, in your city's listings, and under the categories that fit. If you run events or offers, those go on too and come off by themselves once they are over.
  5. 5We keep it goingNew photos, a changed menu, a Christmas offer, a launch night — send them over and we will update it. You never have to log in or manage anything yourself.

What we promise

  • We review only what we have seenNo scraped reviews and no borrowed star ratings. If a profile carries a rating and a write-up, we have been there ourselves — and if we have not been yet, the profile says so.
  • Position is for sale. The review is not.Members are listed above businesses who are not members, and their cards are bigger — that is what a membership buys, along with being featured, appearing as a FINDR Pick, and social coverage. We say so above the results on every listing page, not just here. What you cannot buy is the rating or the words. We write those after visiting, and they do not change because an invoice was paid.
  • Independent businesses firstWe are more interested in the barber who has been on the same corner for twenty years than in the chain down the road.

Common questions

What does it cost?
It depends on how much you want — a straightforward listing is not the same as a profile with photography, promotion and social coverage. We talk it through with you directly rather than putting a price list on the internet, and there is nothing to pay to enquire.
Does paying move me up the list?
Yes, and we say so above the results rather than leaving you to work it out. Members are listed first and get the larger card — photography, our score, the line we wrote after visiting, and buttons to call or get directions. A free listing still gets a real page and shows up in the same searches; it just shows less. What paying never changes is the score itself.
Do I have to manage my own page?
No. There is no login and no dashboard for businesses. You email or message us and we make the change.
What if the review is not glowing?
We only write up places we would recommend, so a poor review is unlikely to appear — if somewhere is not for us, we usually just do not list it. What we will not do is write something we do not mean, because the moment we start doing that the whole site is worthless.
How long does it take?
We read enquiries ourselves, usually within a couple of days. After that it depends on when we can get to you, and we will be straight with you about that.
